Willie
Moran, il Campione delle Ostriche
A dagiato sul porticciolo di Kilcolgan in località Weir nella contea di Galway, si erge un locale rustico ricavato da un caratteristico cottage dal tettl di paglia. Si chiama "Moran's Oyster Cottage" e nome più appropriato non potrebbe avere. Di porprietà della famiglia Moran che lo gestisce da sei generazioni, questo locale èuna tappa obbligata per assaporare le famose ostriche della baia di Galway, specialmente durante il primo dei due famosi festival dell'ostrica organizzati all'inizio di settembre nella zona di Galway. Nella foto a sinistra è ripreso il proprietario Willie Moran, affiancato da Carmel Greaney a Marion O'Donnell che lavorano nel suo locale, mentre sguscia ostriche per il festival. Willie detiene un singolare e ineguagliato titolo mondiale, quello di avere sgusciato trenta ostriche in un tempo record di un minuto e trentuno secondi.

Willie Moran, the Oyster Champion
Perched on the small Kilcolgan port at Weir in Co. Galway, stands a quaint eating house hosted in an equally quaint thatched cottage. It's "Morans Oyster Cottage" and it could not have a more appropriate name. Owned by the Moran family who have been running it for six generations, this restaurant is a must for tasting Galway Bay oysters, especially during the first of the two Oyster Festivals held in the Galway Area. Pictured in the photo on the left is the proprietor Willie Moran while opening oysters for the Festival. He is sided by Carmel Greaney and Marion O'Donnell who works for him. Willie holds an amazing world title for opening thirty oysters in the record time of one minute and thirty-one seconds.
