Clarenbridge story is the one about the Emperor and Empress of
Japan. They were to have lunch in Moran's of the Weir and
Willie Moran and his staff were given scrupulous details as to
how to behave with the royal heads. After all these people's ancestors
were considered gods by their subjects in times past. Everyone
was instructed on how they should bow to the imperial guests,
and under no circumstances should they make actual physical contact.
But the Foreign Affairs department had reckoned without Willie's
83 year old father Michael. The fleet of motorcycle cops arrived,
followed by stretch limousines. The emporer and empress emerged.
The line of staff from Moran's was ready to greet them. Then suddenly
Michael steps forward and say: 'Howya ma'am, Jeyes you're more
than welcome"....
